In most Asian countries, Buddhism has intergrated with the local folk belief and religion. Not many practice Buddhism in its purest form. Thais and Burmese are followers of Theravada Buddhism and local folk belief while those of Chinese and Korean descents ( in various countries ) practice Mahayana Buddhist with elements from folk religions, Taoism and Confucianism whereas westerners are mostly drawn to Zen and Tibetan Buddhism.
